I had never heard of Reflexology until I had a treatment whilst staying at a hotel back in 1993/94 – and was absolutely amazed!! Firstly, by the very accurate assessment of my health at that time, and secondly by how I felt afterwards.
I decided that what I had experienced was fascinating and wanted to know more. I enrolled on a six week taster course – evening classes locally and was more convinced I had to take this further. I then read more and searched for the most suitable course to lead to a professional qualification. Eunice Ingham, who brought Reflexology to the western world in the 1930’s had founded the International Institute of Reflexology so I decided that was a good place to start. Although it meant travelling I felt this was the right thing for me to do so I enrolled on the practitioner training course.
I qualified as a reflexologist in 1996 after training with the International Institute of Reflexology (UK). I then undertook and successfully completed a certificated course in Clinical Medicine in 1997 and since then have continued to undertake further post graduate training including Advanced Reflexology techniques (ART), Precision Reflexology and more recently Maternity Reflexology.
I enjoy helping people help themselves and achieve better health and well-being through this non-invasive therapy which can be so effective.
After a long career in Local Government, and running my practice on a part-time basis I waved goodbye to the stress and pressure in late 2011 and am now working in a job I love!
I am very pleased to be able to offer a greater choice of days/times for appointments so that more people can experience Reflexology as well as Indian Champissage in Plymouth and the surrounding areas.
In 2012 I qualified as an Indian Champissage (Head Massage) Therapist with the London Centre of Indian Champissage International which was founded by Narendra Metha, the gentleman who researched and developed Champissage as a treatment. Again, this is a non-invasive therapy – it is a relaxing treatment that is so versatile to carry out, and where the client remains fully clothed – all that is required is a chair!
I am also an Team Ambassador with Tropic Skin Care. We have a 100% naturally derived skincare range, plus bodycare and make-up ranges that use only the highest quality natural ingredients. Tropic is owned 50/50 by Susan Ma and Lord Alan Sugar. See the Tropic Skincare page for more details.
In addition I have been taking Simply Natural’s plant derived mineral ‘Sizzling Minerals’ for the last four years and think they are amazing! So much so I’m happy to help them by sharing with others. See the Plant Derived Minberals page for more details.
